A place to learn, reflect and connect

Becoming Ecological is based at Mill House, a working smallholding and home to a small community in the Suffolk countryside.

Surrounded by fields, woodland and open skies, Mill House offers a setting for experiential learning, reflection and developing a deeper relationship with the living world.

Our programmes and workshops are rooted in the landscape around Mill House. Alongside time spent together at the smallholding, participants have opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside and engage with different environments as part of their learning.

Mill House is also home to a small community committed to living in closer relationship with the land.

If you'd like to understand more about the people and philosophy behind the place, you can explore the Mill House Community.

Staying at Mill House During Workshops

Where possible, we encourage participants to stay on site during workshops, sharing time with our small community and experiencing life at Mill House. Accommodation is simple and informal, with several options available:

Camping

Mill House Camping, run by Rosie and Emma, offers pitches for those bringing their own tents. Tents may also be available for those who don't have their own.

Bell tents

For those looking for a little more comfort, bell tent accommodation with beds and linen is occasionally available.

Indoor accommodation

For those who prefer not to camp, there are a couple of single beds upstairs in the Granary, along with shared sleeping space in the Yurt.

Facilities and costs

There's a well-equipped shared kitchen, washrooms and showers available.

Visitors should bring their own bedding and towels, unless staying in a bell tent where linen is provided.

An additional charge of £10 per workshop applies to accommodation, or £25 for bell tent accommodation, to help cover costs.

Please check availability and arrangements when booking.
